Denver, June 15, 2018 to June 17, 2018, Colorado Convention Center — We were in Denver just wandering around, when we started noticing people in really impressive cosplay. At first, we weren’t sure what was happening, but we decided to follow one of the groups. Turns out they were heading to the convention center for Denver Comic Con. We hadn’t planned on going, but it seemed like a good way to spend a few hours, so we grabbed badges for that Saturday and checked it out.

Inside, the convention was exactly what you’d expect if you’ve ever been to a fan event. Cosplay was everywhere, and people had clearly put a lot of work into their outfits. We saw everything from intricate costumes to characters you wouldn’t expect to run into on a Saturday in Denver.
One of the highlights for us was the Bizarre States panel with Jessica Chobot. Seeing her on stage, talking with the audience, and keeping the discussion moving was a lot of fun. She’s a natural at this, and that hour went by faster than we realized.

Another cool moment was spotting Jason Momoa at his autograph area. Even just seeing him in person was a little surreal, and watching all the fans around him was kind of entertaining in its own way.

By the end of the afternoon, we had spent a few hours wandering the show floor, catching a panel, and watching people in cosplay go about their day. It wasn’t planned, but it ended up being one of those random experiences that sticks with you.
