Has anyone heard anything official about hotel registration for San Diego Comic-Con 2026 yet?
If you’ve done this before, you know the drill: the annual Hotelpocalypse always seems to sneak up on us. Historically, it’s landed on a Wednesday in mid-April (around my kids’ birthdays), around 10 am CST, which I know very well because it somehow always conflicts with my standing Wednesday 10 am meeting. I’m that person excusing myself for a “quick minute” to log on, then sitting there nervously glancing at my phone every 3 seconds like my life depends on it.
Still no official date announced yet (just “spring 2026”), but based on past years, we’re probably getting close.
But big heads up this year: they’ve actually changed how hotel booking works for 2026:
- It’s no longer the old “submit a form and wait” system
- It’s now a live booking sale in real time
- You pick and book your hotel instantly when you get through the queue
- Inventory updates live (so if it’s gone, it’s gone)
- Requires a non-refundable 2-night deposit at checkout (Comic-Con International)
Honestly, this feels like it’s about to be even more chaotic than usual. Curious if anyone has heard updates or insider info? Or are we all just refreshing our inboxes and mentally preparing for battle again?
