Mom, what were you like in the 90s?

A few months late to this trend. But felt nostalgic, might delete later.. because do I really want people to know how old I am? The 90s were a decade of fun and no regrets — no digital evidence of what you did at the club the night before, no social media. Just a kid going from preppy to emo to finding my own identity. Late-night calls on the cordless phone until it ran out of batteries, renting movies and watching them on your VCR, writing in your diary, chatting with friends on AIM, meeting new friends on IRC and adding them to your ICQ, mall hopping in search of cute boys, shopping at Contempo Casuals to discovering Forever 21 in 1998, Glamour Shots, buying CDs at Sam Goodie or Tower Records and then buying 8 CDs for “a penny” from Columbia House before realizing you’re getting ripped off, making mixed tapes for your friends and cousins, burning CDs from MP3s you downloaded off your dial-up internet, Thursday 80s night at the club with 50¢ drinks, Love Boat ’99 (not the show, IYKYK).

What a time to be alive.
