Marvel Zombies is out today on Disney+. This is Marvel Studios’ first TV‑MA animated series, and it takes a much darker, scarier look at the Marvel Universe than anything we’ve seen from them before. All four episodes were released at once, so fans can binge the entire mini-series if they want.
From start to finish, the series leans fully into mature themes, intense action, and horror. It explores what happens when heroes are not just challenged by villains, but are faced with a world turned upside down in a way that feels both thrilling and unpredictable. Familiar characters are reimagined in ways that are shocking, darkly funny, and at times genuinely unsettling.
The animation is sharp, bold, and cinematic, capturing both Marvel’s superhero spectacle and the grotesque horror that defines this series. Every episode keeps the tension high, while also finding moments of humor and character-driven storytelling that prevent it from feeling one-note.
The voice cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Simu Liu, Hailee Steinfeld, Awkwafina, Iman Vellani, Dominique Thorne, Randall Park, and Tessa Thompson, all of whom bring their characters to life in a way that balances the horror, the comedy, and the drama.
Overall, Marvel Zombies is unlike anything Marvel has done before. It’s dark, twisted, and entertaining from beginning to end. Even without spoiling anything, I can say that it’s a series that keeps you engaged, surprises you, and gives longtime Marvel fans a whole new way to see their favorite heroes.
