The Witcher Season 4 is here on Netflix! After more than two years since the last season, all eight episodes were released today, giving fans the chance to binge the new chapter if they want. I’ve only watched the first episode so far, but it’s enough to get a sense of the new energy and direction the show is taking.
One of the biggest talking points heading into this season was the change in lead actor. Liam Hemsworth steps into the role of Geralt of Rivia, taking over from Henry Cavill, who was the reason I started watching The Witcher from the very beginning. Hemsworth’s first moments in the premiere set the tone well, teasing plenty of action, intense monster battles, and Geralt navigating a gritty, war-torn Continent.
The episode also hints at familiar faces and evolving relationships for Yennefer and Ciri, while introducing new challenges that promise to test the characters in surprising ways. The world of the Continent remains rich, dangerous, and full of the dark fantasy elements fans love.
Season 4 is leaning into epic storytelling while keeping the drama, adventure, and political intrigue that make The Witcher feel like The Witcher. I can’t wait to watch the rest of the season.
