Houston, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, Regal Edwards Houston Marq’E — I was invited to my first YouTube Creator event, and it turned out to be a great experience. It was a screening of Wicked for Good. I never saw the first movie, but I have seen the musical several times (many years ago), so I at least had a sense of the story.
YouTube hosted an early screening for Houston creators, making the evening feel thoughtful and celebratory. At check-in, we received YouTube Creator lanyards, 20th anniversary pins, and complimentary popcorn, candy, and drinks. I arrived a little later than most guests, so I ended up in the front row. Tilting my neck up for the entire movie was definitely a challenge, and since I did not weigh enough to keep the recliner leaned back, my thighs got quite a workout from pushing into the floor for support. The movie itself was cute, and thanks to my familiarity with the musical, I was able to follow along.
After the screening, every creator and their guest were gifted a really nice YouTube sweatshirt in either Wicked green or pink. I chose the green one because it’s obviously the best color.
