When I heard Ka Sushi was serving Japanese pancakes, I immediately made Sunday brunch reservations. If you’ve been on Instagram in the last year, you’ve probably seen videos of these fluffy, bouncy, lighter-than-air soufflé hotcakes in your feed. I hoped Ka Sushi’s pancakes would mimic that, but they turned out to be a thicker version of American pancakes. They were dense and a little dry; nothing really like the Japanese pancakes I hoped they’d be, but they were cute and make for a great photo. They come with pork wings, maple syrup, and Sriracha syrup to make the dish a bit more interesting.
I also ordered the Avo Baked, a halved avocado filled with bacon, a yolk-porn worthy egg, and furikake. I enjoyed this more than the pancakes.
It was too early for me to eat sushi, but my husband ordered a few nigiri pieces. He noted that some were a lot better than the others, but overall he enjoyed the sushi and would return for more.
